This past summer, Senior Katelyn Lyons spent three weeks traveling throughout Spain with Beech Spanish Teacher Jamie Greer. She joined high school students from Florida and Arizona for the experience where students took three hours of class every day and spent the rest of their time living as a Spaniard. Activities Katelyn participated in include kayaking, paddle boarding and windsurfing classes, dance class, a visit to the Castle of Santa Barbara, Terra Mitica theme park, walking tours of the city, a day trip to Granada to visit La Alhambra and the Castle of King George and a trip to Toledo where she viewed original artwork by El Greco and Alfonso X. In Madrid Katelyn visited the Royal Palace and El Prado Art Museum.
